WernerCo shortlisted for Safety and Health Excellence Award

WernerCo, the UK’s leading manufacturer and distributor of access equipment, has been shortlisted for an award at this year’s Safety and Health Excellence Awards.
WernerCo is one of seven nominees in the Best Health and Safety in Manufacturing category, beating a record number of 348 entrants to secure a place on this year’s shortlist.
The nomination follows recent investment into the infrastructure of its Maldon factory and improved training provisions for its 102-strong team, in addition to the introduction of a new ‘safety observation’ process.
The initiative, which makes each employee accountable for identifying potential hazards and risks, saw employees logging a total of 273 individual reports in 2023 alone, of which 268 were rapidly resolved. This has contributed to the factory achieving more than 1,000 days since the last recordable incident – an incredible feat within the manufacturing sector.

The winner of the Best in Health and Safety Manufacturing Award will be announced at the Safety and Excellence Awards Gala on 1st May 2024, at Vox, Resorts World, NEC Birmingham.
